Today 2K Sports announced that Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler is the cover athlete and spokesperson for NHL 2K11.
“Having the opportunity to participate in the Olympics and play in front of my home crowd was one of the best experiences of my life. To now be chosen as the next cover athlete for NHL 2K11 is another dream come true,” said Kesler via a statement. “It was awesome to work with 2K Sports last year on the NHL 2K10 commercial shoot and the outdoor motion capture session on the Las Vegas strip was incredible to be a part of. I’m looking forward to having just as much fun again, and helping them make another great hockey game this year.”
We don’t know a whole lot about the NHL but if you ask us Alexander Ovechkin and Sid the Kid Crosby should just alternate covers every year because they are head and shoulders above every other player in the league.
NHL 2K11 will hit stores this Fall.

BioShock was a surprise hit for the Xbox 360 back when it debuted in ’06, garnering unanimous critical acclaim and giving gamers a first-person shooter that wasn’t just about running around and blowing ish up. 2K gave gamers a deep storyline that blew just about everyone away and the RPG/FPS hybrid gameplay was fun enough to warrant multiple plays. So it should go with out saying a sequel would be no surprise. After the jump »
