Nissan is now offering the Nissan 370Z race cars for customer orders. Based on the street legal Z the NISMO RC is much lighter and it has been designed to conform to International FIA GT4 and World Challenge GTS class specifications.

The 370Z NISMO weighs in at 2,954 lbs. and features NISMO race exhaust,NISMO tuned ECM, high capacity NISMO clutch, flywheel, engine oil, transmission and differential coolers and a Recaro racing seat with 6-point racing harness, FIA-compliant roll cage and fire extinguisher. A Sparco racing steering wheel and a revamped and race-ready carbon fiber switch panel are also part of the RC package. The 3.7 liter Nissan VQ37VHR power plant checks in at 355 horsepower and 276 ft. lbs. of torque. The hoses and connectors have also been upgraded to meet the demands of racing.

Audi presented the concept of a GT4 car based on the Audi TT at this weeks DTM race in Shanghai.

With the production-based TT GT4, Audi wants to offer potential customers a base option for affordable motorsport. The vehicle’s platform is a motorsport body with a roll-over cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank box and further modifications which will be identical for all future customer sport versions. The Audi TT is equipped with a TFSI engine delivering about 340 hp. The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing stem from the production Audi TT RS. The hood, doors and trunk lid are made of CFRP and the windows of plastic. The TT is fitted with a S-tronic transmission with a differential lock, a modified production suspension with adjustable dampers, plus 9.5 x 18 inch light alloy wheels.

The Audi TT GT4 is planned to sell for about 120,000 euros in Europe. They also plan on targeting the Asian market as well.

I don’t play PC only games nor do I understand why anyone does for that matter. With all the gaming console options I don’t see the need. But, I can’t front on Need For Speed World, the latest in a long line a stellar car racing games from EA. It’s incredible if only for the multi-players options. Of course other games/platforms have this option but rarely as encompassing as it is here. Amazing graphics bring you in but the online communities will make you stay.

The designers talked about purposely making a game that won’t just appeal to 25 year-old guys and because of that focus; the game-play (the car customization, the Instant Messenger way the online community functions, voice-chatting, etc) is highly enjoyable.

Need for Speed World will be available summer 2010 on PC. –K. Salaam

Disney Interactive Studios announced today that Split/Second will be released in North America on May 18 and in Europe on May 21.

The game is set within the world of a fictional reality TV show. Players race to the finish line as with any other racing game but they also trigger explosive events that alter the track to take out opponents or create short cuts.

The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.

Today EA announced the Xbox Live exclusive Ferrari Racing Pack. The DLC includes 10 Ferrari automobiles and marks the first time in 7 years that the famed automaker will be featured on a Need For Speed title.

The Ferrari Racing pack will be available worldwide today for $10.00 or 800 Microsoft Points.
