New Orleans Saints Super Bowl winning QB Drew Brees has been selected as the cover athlete for Madden NFL ‘11. Brees beat out Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne in fan voting (yeah right).

“The Madden NFL franchise holds a special place in popular culture and the cover is a coveted position for players all over the league,” said New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. “I’m honored to be the first cover athlete chosen by Madden NFL fans and it’s a great way to cap off an amazing year for the Saints and the city of New Orleans.”

Brees says that he’s not worried about  the Madden Curse and for Saints fan’s sakes they better hope he doesn’t fall in line with previous cover athletes.

Fans will also have the opportunity to decide on other Madden features as well. From now until April 26, fans can vote on three match-ups through the Madden NFL website and determine which teams would be featured in the Madden NFL 11 game demo: a Super Bowl rematch, or a replay of one of the Conference Championship games.

Also during the 2010 NFL Draft, fans will have the opportunity to influence rookie player ratings in Madden NFL 11 via online votes on the Madden NFL website.

Failed attempts at a comeback with the Raiders and Titans were short lived as well.

Now Williams is attempting to make the Seattle Seahawks squad under his former USC coach Pete Carroll and Skee TV is there to document what could be this former can’t miss prospect’s last chance at NFL glory.

The shoes are ugly to say the least but from what Reebok says, they are super comfortable and lightweight.

Joey Porter was the first NFL player we heard promoting this shoe during media week at the Super Bowl. Where is his commercial?

All-Star weekend is about a lot more than the big game and parties. The annual NBA weekend is also about giving back to the community. Yesterday Jordan Brand did that in a big way.

The company and their Team Jordan athletes Dallas-native Michael Crabtree and Gold Medal Paralympian April Holmes along with legendary Texas rapper Bun-B surprised thousands of students from Yvonne Ewell Townview Center, James Madison High School and South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas with a pep rally to boost spirits and raise funds for the deserving schools.

As part of the Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program that supports teachers who motivate and inspire students toward achieving excellence, Jordan Brand selected the three schools to participate in the“Layups for Learning” experience during the All-Star week to demonstrate to local youth the importance of determination, perseverance and continued education for achieving your dreams.

Team Jordan athletes Crabtree and Holmes were surprise guests who took turns addressing their own high school experiences and coaching select students to make layups towards their education. The lucky students successfully completed enough layups to earn $25,000 for each school on behalf of Jordan Brand.

Kim Kardashian and Swizz Beats sent out a twitpic of Reggie Bush and Swizz Beats holding what is believed to be the Swizz designed Christian Louboutin sneaker. Not feeling these at all. If you plan on dropping $700 + on a pair of kicks there are a lot better options out there.
