Everyone is not fortunate enough to live in an area where the weather is beautiful in the summer so Upper Playground is releasing a line of hoodies to help get you through the doldrums. The chrome colored World Series hoodie, the brown Sophomore hoodie, and the navy blue Outline UP – all made of medium weight fleece and are available here.

The team over at The Hundreds has gone with a concept unlike most other streetwear brands for the upcoming fall season. The seven year old Los Angeles company is offering pieces that pay homage to everyone’s favorite autumn clothes from childhood. This concept is especially strange coming from The Hundreds because how cold does it really get in Southern California during the fall? Despite this theory, they seem to pull it off, from the weathered tees to comfy crewshirts and broken in straight jeans. It seems The Hundreds are just trying to keep us cozy as the temperature drops and the leaves change color. — Nadine G.

Orisue always pushes the envelope on their lookbook shoots. For the fall lookbook the OC brand has used a movie theme. In the motion picture a group of friends are going to their first formal social wine mixer rocking the light jackets, woven button-ups, cardigans, vests, knit shirts and denim from the fall collection.

You should be familiar with Ryan Sheckler from his MTV show Life of Ryan, if not from his board skills. Skate company etnies has decided to focus on Ryan’s fashionable side with the Ryan Sheckler fall 2010 collection.

Even if you aren’t into the whole teenage heartthrob thing you can’t front on the clean comfortable look of the pieces.

Apparel brand Tradition was a sponsor for the 3rd annual HBCU 5K Run/Walk in Atlanta last weekend. Lots of HBCU grads came out to support the charitable event. Check out the video above to see what went down.

ATL based brand men’s clothing brand Chilly-O recently released the lookbook for their 2010 Spring/Summer line. The fact that they skipped the normal medium for a lookbook and put it on video is a really hot idea. Check it out above.

I’ve long considered clothes to be a form of non-verbal communication. I gather info on people I don’t know and even people I do know based upon how they present themselves. Granted, clothes aren’t the be all and end all and are but a part of the overall make-up of a person—but they do matter. Brands like Oliver Spencer reinforce why clothes are such a difference-making investment.

After attending last week’s OS NYC fall preview I came away highly impressed and noticeably motivated by the array of the autumn line. There isn’t a particular theme for the fall line, just nice, dependable clothing. There is plenty of inventive outerwear, next level sweaters and creative as hell jackets.  Oliver Spencer reflects its London heritage in making understated clothing but it’s not like anything is boring. Sure there are a lot of navy and gray items but the designs are interesting without trying to be edgy.

These are tangible clothes, the things you wear in real life situations. Heavy-duty cardigans, slacks and hats are all made with care and conviction. And the corduroy ties and raincoats all bring a level of sophistication usually only found in higher priced brands. That’s not to say that Oliver Spencer’s prices are shoulder shrug worthy.  The coats hover around $700 and the sweaters and cardigans sell for upwards of $250 but the quality makes it worth the dough.

One thing that I didn’t care for was the denim. The design was too “modern” and went in a different direction than the rest of the line.

Overall though, the fall line should raise eyebrows as Oliver Spencer has created a simple yet authoritative collection of clothes that men from different walks of life can respect.–Khalid Salaam

Even though it does not feel like spring in some regions of the US, you still have to get fresh for when the warmer temperatures come around. Just in time for spring, Undrcrwn has released the 1st delivery of their spring 2010 “It’s Always Showtime” collection. The line draws some inspiration from the West Coast music and sports culture of the early 90s.

The collection features Nylon Jackets, Organic Crew Neck Sweaters.
