For the past 22 years, Nintendo has had the handheld gaming market on lock. During that time span they’ve had their share of competition from some big name companies — Sega, NEC, Atari, Nokia, and Sony. Most of have fallen, while others became afterthoughts, but with Apple’s handheld devices making a serious move on Nintendo’s territory, now seemed like the best time for Nintendo to make a bold (gaming) evolutionary move.

AFC North Team Ratings

* Baltimore Ravens – 90 (3rd overall)

* Cincinnati Bengals – 86 (T-8th overall)

* Pittsburgh Steelers – 84 (11th overall)

* Cleveland Browns – 70 (28th overall)

Madden NFL ‘11 Team Ratings

Today EA released the team rankings for the AFC East and West divisions. There are a few questionable ratings in our opinion but what would Madden be without controversy. Let the debates begin.

AFC North and South ratings will be released next week.

AFC East Team Ratings

New York Jets – 89 (4th overall)

New England Patriots – 86 (8th overall)

Miami Dolphins – 79 (17th overall)

Buffalo Bills – 67 (31st overall)

AFC West Team Ratings

San Diego Chargers – 85 (10th overall)

Denver Broncos – 78 (19th overall)

Oakland Raiders – 71 (17th overall)

Kansas City Chiefs – 71 (27th overall)

Gus Johnson Joins Madden NFL Booth

Gus Johnson is no doubt one of the best play-by-play people in the business and he will now bring his unique flavor to the Madden NFL franchise.

Gus is well known for his calls during NFL, NCAA college basketball, MMA broadcasts and most importantly sonning Spike Lee. He now joins the infamous Cris Collinsworth to form the freshest two man booth in quite some time.

Madden Bowl Highlights

During Super Bowl weekend in South Florida, eight NFL superstars, including Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati Bengals), Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans), Percy Harvin (Minnesota Vikings), Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville Jaguars), Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys), Jared Allen (Minnesota Vikings), Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Patrick Willis (San Francisco 49ers) went head-to-head on Xbox 360 at Madden Bowl XVI.

Maurice Jones-Drew won the Madden Bowl Cup by defeating Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers in the final round.

Madden NFL Release Party

With the anticipation of this year’s edition of Madden NFL, EA Sports collaborated with Xbox 360 to put on a two-day star studded event. The first half took place last night at Loews Santa Monica Hotel the red caret was rolled out for film, TV, and football stars past and present to welcome in the 21st edition of Madden on home console.
