CES 2012 is right around the corner and a few companies are starting to tease their announcements. iHome will be debuting three new docking station alarm clocks in the company’s North Hall booth.
- The iW4 is iHome’s most advanced docking station to date. The device uses your home WiFi network to stream music from iTunes, iPad, iPhone or iPod touch (what, no video?). The firmware is also upgradeable to keep up with your devices advances. ($269.99)
- The iP18 is the dual alarm clock speaker system that we’d expect Kanye West to have on his nightstand. Aside from playing and charging the iPhone and iPad, the translucent cabinet also glows in five different colors at the touch of a button. ($69.99)
-iD50 is an app-friendly Bluetooth alarm clock that also works as a speakerphone for your iPhone. It does everything one would expect a clock dock to do, plus it features SRS Bass and Reason8 speakers. ($169.99)
All three docks are expected to be available later this year.

Kevin Hart is taking full advantage of his popularity these days. The self-depreciating comedian has joined with Codeblack Interactive to create an iPhone application in the same vein of his many ’short’ jokes, called “Little Jumpman”(wonder if Jordan Brand approved the title). The player’s objective is to get Little Kevin to jump as high as he can, earning points and moving to different levels in the game. The app will feature a sidebar where fans can pre-order tickets for his upcoming film, Laugh At My Pain. While logged into the app, fans can also be updated on Hart’s YouTube uploads, and Facebook andTwitter updates.
The 99 cent application is available at the Apple App Store for the iphone, IPod Touch and IPad.–Nadine Graham

The Godfather: Empire
Oceanside Interactive
(iPhone)
3.0 out of 5.0
Historically, movies and video games have often been hit or miss. While some films and game genres seem to go hand in hand (Scarface: The World is Yours, Chronicles of Riddick, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), other flop horribly (Iron Man, Enter the Matrix, Return of the King). Integrating the famed Godfather franchise into a Mafia Wars’-esque gameplay is a move that makes perfect sense.
We have to give The Godfather: Empire props for one thing, rather than simply slapping the movie license on a generic game, they put together a pretty engaging storyline featuring many of the main players from the original Godfather trilogy. You’ll find yourself interacting with Sal Tessio, Clemenza, and even Luca Brasi before you hit level two. They also get bonus points for offering some great hand-drawn visuals of the films famous faces to accompany their moments in the game.

“Mad Chad”
Rock Software
iPhone
6.0 out of 10.0
Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, with the help of Rock Software, has created a surprisingly addictive and polished, Mirror’s Edge-esque game. Similar to the hit next-gen game, gamers are in control of Chad as he chases after thieves that stole his pigeons. Yes for the 1.4 million people that follow Ochocinco on Twitter, he tuned one tweet about his missing birds into iPhone app.
The game is pretty simple. Using the screen as a controller, you duck, jump, and double jump your way around obstacles in an effort to catch the cold hearted bird thief that stole the semi-famous pigeon. The game features some great quotes (“I GOT YO BIRD – XOXO – THUG”), Back To The Future-esque hover boards, rocket thrusters, gangsters, traffic, and even killer sharks that try really hard to eat the cunning hero.
The unique thing about it, is that the levels are set all over the globe, from the beaches of Florida to the top of the Great Wall of China. As the environments change, so do the enemies. You’ll get gangsters in Miami, luchadors in Mexico, and farmers in Omaha. As far as iPhone games go the graphics are pretty decent, as the cartoon animation works well for what is essentially an old-school platformer. A decent game to kill some time at the DMV, or church.
Also check out exclusive tracks on the game from Miami’s #1 DJ, DJ Irie.
