We got these when the playoffs first kicked off but somehow the release got lost in the shuffle. However, with the NBA’s three month long playoffs the limited edition Skullcandy Mix Master NBA Player Series headphones are still fly and relevant.
Each headphone is limited to 100 pieces. The Mix Master Mike designed cans are gold-plated,coming complete with twin audio inputs, mute button and dual channel cue control to custom fit. The Coil Cable provides the perfect function for any action behind the turntables; while the straight cable lets you hook up to whatever audio device you choose.

Hip hop artists and moguls alike are taking branding to a whole other level, even branching out into auditory equipment.
First it was Dr. Dre with his aptly named, um, Beats By Dre headphones. Now Jay-Z is in the mix, with his label RocNation collaborating with the popular SkullCandy brand for the release of the Roc embossed Aviator earphones. The involvement of RocNation is a great look for the company as they’ll be appealing to a massive hip hop audience, loyal to the artists that they love.
The headphones will come in white, brown and black and they’ll feature “top-grade metals, polycarbonate headphone cups, plush, memory foam ear pillows, and finished with premium optics previously only seen in the realm of high-fashion eyewear.” SkullCandy is planning for a June 2010 release, but you can get the heads up on an exact release date here.
The Aviator is the first product launch of the partnership. It will be interesting to see what else RocNation and SkullCandy come up with. –Nadine Graham

Today at CES Diddy and Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine announced the music mogul’s earbuds by Monster. Diddy Beats (MSRP: $179.95), the latest addition to the hugely popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphone family from Monster.
“My mother played music for me as a child, and I grew up loving the way music made me feel. It brought out joy and pain. It was my first career, my first love. No matter how many roads I travel, my heart always takes me back there. Music is my life, and Diddy Beats is an expression of how great sound makes me feel,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Monster is pretty much killing the game with the Beats series. Hopefully they don’t over saturate the brand.

Sometimes the simplest ideas in theory are the best ones in reality.
