Toyota Prius v Debuts At NAIAS

Toyota has expanded the Prius line to include the roomier Prius v (for versatility). Unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit–Prius v offers the same hybrid powertrain and platform yet features 50% more space than the Prius hatchback.

Due in the U.S. this summer, Prius V is also expected to have better fuel economy than any SUV or Crossover on the market.

Nissan LEAF Reservations Open Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Nissan is opening reservations for the Nissan LEAF to the general public.

Up until now Nissan had only offered reservations to select customers who had registered for ongoing communications on the Nissan LEAF. More than 9,500 consumers placed a reservation during this priority window.

The LEAF begins rolling out to select markets in December of this year, with increased availability beginning in spring 2011, and full market rollout in 2012.

The highly anticipated zero emissions Nissan LEAF price was announced today and for what the car offers it is fairly priced in its segment. Nissan LEAF will start as low as $25,280 when applicable $7,500 federal tax credits are applied. The starting MSRP (before the federal tax credit) is $32,780.

In addition, Nissan will offer a low lease price of $349 per month which includes the $7,500 federal tax credit. That does not include state taxes and all the rest of the local fees that go along with purchasing a new vehicle

The LEAF will be available in December of 2010
