Just in time for the back-to-school/holiday shopping season, Apple’s unleashed a slew of new iPod goodies for us techies out there.
Here’s all the info from Apple’s Fall 2010 event.
Apple TV
Apple finally updated there under utilized Apple TV. Now a streaming-focused device in a small, black, hockey puck design, it boast HDMI, Ethernet, optical audio, and USB outputs, and of course 802.11n for the cable-averse. Inside, Apple dumped the hard drive, instead you’ll be streaming everything from the Internet or your computer.
They hooked up with ABC and Fox to give owners new streaming HD TV rentals for a mere 99 cents, while first run HD movies will go for $4.99. Other services include Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and Mobile Me, along with Rotten Tomatoes integration in the movie catalog. Apple will start shipping the new Apple TV in four weeks for $99.
Samuel L . Jackson is one of the most quotable and quoted thespians of our time so it is hard to believe that it took a company this long to create an app with quotes from him. Heatwave Interactive did just that with the iSamJackson app. Hit the jump for more info and pics.
Zune HD, one of the most highly anticipated gadgets for Fall is now available for pre order. If you’ve been living under a rock or are an iPod disciple here’s the rundown. Zune HD is the first portable media player to come equipped with an HD radio receiver, HD video output, OLED touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Internet browser. Hit the jump for more pics and info. I first saw the pico projector at CES and I had no idea it would be marketed in such a “festive” manner. Very cool gadget for now but there are already phones (not available in the U.S. yet) that have the projector function built in. The Cinemin Swivel works with many portable gadgets and is available for pre-order now for $350.
Back when I worked at 1115 B’way I kept a Krups Beertender at my desk. Great invention, what guy doesn’t want draught worthy beer in his home office? I was wondering when more beer companies were going to make DraughtKeg’s compatible with the Beertender and finally New Castle has. Stay thirsty my friends.
