E3 2011 kicked “unofficially” yesterday with the press conferences by EA, Ubisoft, and of course the big console makers, Microsoft and Sony. Some call these two-hour long press conferences overblown and dull, but what they do is set the stage and tone for what we can expect gaming industry to unveil during the show.
We’re a couple weeks away from E3 and the news keeps on pouring in. Metro: Last Night is one of the latest (and coolest) titles to be pre-announced. The “first person survival shooter” (aren’t they all?) won’t surface until 2012 but this trailer has us a bit amped for more info/footage. The sequel to Metro 2033 takes place in a post apocalyptic Moscow circa 2034. You will battle humans and mutants throughout the Moscow subway system using makeshift weapons, all while trying to breath and bust your guns. Thankfully there will also be multiplayer. Check out the trailer below.
Last night Activision held what was quite possibly the biggest E3 party since Sony used to hold it down in the mid-2000’s. In anticipation of DJ Hero 2, the company threw secret show at the Staples Center featuring Eminem, Usher, Rihanna, N.E.R.D, Travis Barker and many more.
The show was free for invited guests. It was definitely the hottest ticket in town.

If Project Natal (horrible name by the way) is released anytime soon, then it is indeed a wrap for the Nintendo Wii. All I can say is kudos to Microsoft and/or the Israeli company they bought that probably developed they technology.
We’re 7 days away from E3 and its still up in the air whether or not the granddaddy of them all will return to its previous glory but the hype is there. Check out Sega’s press release outlining their pretty robust line up of games set to be unveiled at E3. After the jump »
