adidas Unveils Dwight Howard adiPower Signature Shoe

November 2nd, 2011

FW11_DwightHoward_Portrait

Dwight Howard’s 2nd signature shoe is here, “straight off the ship”. The adiPower Howard features the same SPRINTSKIN and Z-Torsion technology as the TS Superbeast. The new LIVE MOTION technology offers personalized pin point cushioning, which we’re assuming replaces the ALIVE cushioning that was in previous D. Howard shoes.

As far as aesthetics go, each shoe features the number 12 on the outside ankle support area. The three stripes are broken into separate pin lines inspired by his jersey. Dwight’s signature is placed at the top of the tongue and numbers 1 and 2 are placed on the base of the tongue on the right and left shoe respectively.

The white/grey/blue colorway hits stores tomorrow for $100 with the black/black and black/white/blue makeups to follow on November 10 and December 1, respectively.

What do you think of Howard’s new kicks?

D. Howard may be a nice guy in real life but he is a monster in the paint (and on twitter) so its no wonder adidas has dubbed his new shoe “The Beast.” The shoe comes in white, royal blue and black and features some nice tech (Torsion System, Pure Motion and Sprintskin to name a few) that adidas sports performance products are known for.

The shoe also has a personal touch from Dwight in the form of some of matte and high gloss in addition to his “Hey WOOOOOOOOOOORLD” tag which is featured on the heel inlay piece.

The Beast is definitely a shoe made for a big man. The heel and ankle support are strong and the shoe weighs in at a respectable 15 ounces. D. Howard’s signature shoe will be available exclusively at Eastbay and Foot Locker for $100.00 this November.

Ken Jeong’s (Community) alter ego Slim Chin joins NBA ballers and adidas pitchmen Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard for the hilarious “Fast Don’t Lie” video. Dwight Howard, who is normally pretty funny comes across corny on this one but Jeong is laugh out loud funny as usual.
