Black Ops was my first long-term exposure to the COD franchise. I quickly got up to speed that the lackluster single-player campaign mode was offset by the amazing online multiplayer modes. Learning that the next COD, Modern Warfare 3, would not be made by the same developer, Treyarch, had me a little skeptical as my favorite feature, zombies would not be in this year’s game. But Infinity Ward has an excellent reputation, handling Activision’s cash cow game.

“Call of Duty Elite” Beta Goes Live on PlayStation Network

Starting today Beta testers can take their current Call of Duty multi-player experience to the next level by jumping into the Beta version of the Call of Duty Elite service. The Beta access will start to be activated in stages, with limited invitations rolling out effective today.

The Beta includes stat tracking, the use of custom player groups, competitive events and video sharing. More features will come out when the real deal is launched on November 8th with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. As an extra incentive to spend that paper, Activision also announced that premium members of Call of Duty Elite will receive all DLC Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 2: Stimulus Package

The first new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package will hit worldwide on March 30th.

The pack will release first on Xbox Live.

Also Silver Xbox Live members will be able to try Modern Warfare 2 in the Multiplayer Unlock event running from March 12 to March 15.
