Pretty soon, sneaker companies are going to start selling air out of shoe boxes, but until then adidas has succeeded in creating the lightest basketball shoe on the market. Today they dropped the details on the adiZero Crazy Lights after a couple years of brainstorming from the Adidas team. The shoes weigh just a bit more than a half pound, at 9.8 ounces; they were developed from the canvas of a bare foot. The uppers are a sort of translucent nylon lending to the lightness of the shoe and the cooling comfort of the player. Wearing these Crazy Lights, would be akin to breaking ankles at breakneck speed since everyone knows, the lighter the shoe, the quicker the moves.

The adiZero Crazy Light come out on June 3 in four colorways for $130 including sharp blue/white, black/red/white, grey/white/neon green and red/white. Six additional team colorways will be released through September and will be available at Foot Locker and Eastbay.–Nadine Graham
