Audi promised Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology would arrive in cars as early as 2011 and they have lived up to the promise. Today the car maker introduced the Audi A8 L prototype complete with mobile broadband capability with data transfers speeds of up to 100Mbps. In layman’s terms passengers in the prototype can use the LTE broadband connection to stream music, high-definition videos and other data on up to six computers or mobile phone devices with relative ease.
The technology made alongside Alcatel-Lucent is something we hope will become the norm in automobiles in the very near future.

The recession is clearly not affecting everyone as luxury automobile company Rolls-Royce had their best sales year ever in 2010. RR sold 2,711 cars during the year. This was a 171% increase on the 2009 total of 1,002 cars and more than double the previous company record of 1,212 cars set in 2008.
The United States was the largest market for RR in 2010 followed by Chine, UK, United Arab Emirates and Japan.
Versions of the four-door Phantom remained the company’s best seller while the Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe saw increased sales.
According to RR, Ghost has also done well, especially with first time Rolls-Royce buyers.

The brand new 2011 Bentley Continental GT 4-seat coupe improves on its already stellar predecessor. The 2011 edition features an updated body style, interior and a more powerful W12 engine with FlexFuel capability (high-output 8-cylinder engine will also be available in late 2011).

Small and green are the prevailing themes for automobiles this year. Mazda has jumped into the fray with the 2011 Mazda2. Available for the first time ever in North America (the car was previously only released in Europe, Australia and Japan), the Mazda2 will be available this month at dealerships nationwide.

Strut has upped the ante once again on after market elegance with the introduction of the Strut LED-Illuminated grille collections for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Land Rover HSE and Sport.
Each grille collection is triple-chromed and shipped completely wired with LED lights already installed. The energy-efficient LEDs are also encased in a waterproof capsule for protection from the elements.
The Mercedes-Benz S Class Collection is designed to work with the daytime running lights as well as the evening lights. The Range Rover Collections connect to the vehicle’s lighting system, and are automatically turned on when the headlights are.
All three designs are currently available.

Here is the first driving footage of Bentley’s new flagship vehicle the Mulsanne. Shot on location in Edinburgh and the Scottish borders, the three minute film features the latest vehicle from Bentley.
The Mulsanne comes equipped with a 6.75 litre twin-turbocharged V8 that is capable of a top speed of 184mph and goes from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.
Pricing has not been announced yet but you can expect it will be in the neighborhood of the cost of Maybach.

Ford is really reaching out to rappers with their new found cool car company status. First Nelly co-signed the 2011 Mustang and now Jadakiss has been spotted profiling with the Ford Fiesta at the New York International Auto Show.
The All-New 2011 Ford Fiesta, which is available in colors like Red Candy, Lime Squeeze and Yellow Blaze Metallic and goes on sale this summer. The viral marketing for this new compact is very strong. Look to see these all over the place come September.

Disney Interactive Studios announced today that Split/Second will be released in North America on May 18 and in Europe on May 21.
The game is set within the world of a fictional reality TV show. Players race to the finish line as with any other racing game but they also trigger explosive events that alter the track to take out opponents or create short cuts.
The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
