Run-DMC became synonymous with the adidas brand in the 1980’s thanks to classics “My Adidas” but moreso because of the late great Jam Master Jay’s street style. To this day, the black-on-white shelltoe is a trusted standby and with fashion revisiting the ‘olden’ days as it does once every few years, we’ve got apparel options as well, just in time for the hit song’s 25th anniversary.
Out of appreciation for the superstar trio, adidas has reworked the Superstar sneaker- ‘1986′ is emblazoned on the heel, a subdued tribute to Jam Master Jay is on the ankle, the phrase ‘My Adidas’ has been added to the tongue and the golden “dookie chain” lace lock is a clever touch. The sneaker is a nod to the decade without being obnoxiously hokey.

Besides the limited shelltoe (only 1,986 pairs will be sold), adidas is offering a graphic tee and of course a Run-DMC collection isn’t complete without the classic black and white tracksuit- all marked with the group’s logo, ‘1986,’ and ‘My Adidas.’ Whether or not you want to rock the suit extra fitted like the legends did, is up to you but the entire line will be available in adidas Originals stores and

Dwight Howard’s 2nd signature shoe is here, “straight off the ship”. The adiPower Howard features the same SPRINTSKIN and Z-Torsion technology as the TS Superbeast. The new LIVE MOTION technology offers personalized pin point cushioning, which we’re assuming replaces the ALIVE cushioning that was in previous D. Howard shoes.
As far as aesthetics go, each shoe features the number 12 on the outside ankle support area. The three stripes are broken into separate pin lines inspired by his jersey. Dwight’s signature is placed at the top of the tongue and numbers 1 and 2 are placed on the base of the tongue on the right and left shoe respectively.
The white/grey/blue colorway hits stores tomorrow for $100 with the black/black and black/white/blue makeups to follow on November 10 and December 1, respectively.
What do you think of Howard’s new kicks?

Paying tribute to 9-time New York Marathon champion Grete Waitz, adidas is releasing three running shoes with colorways inspired by her homeland, Norway. The adizero Adios 2 ($115), adizero Boston 3 ($110) and Supernova Glide 4 ($115) will be sold at adidas’ marathon booth and sport performance store in SoHo. The really cool thing about the shoes is that 100% of the profits go to Waitz’s AKTIV Against Cancer foundation.
The 2011 ING New York City Marathon takes place on November 6.

EA has teamed up with sdidas to promote their newest version of the popular game, Need For Speed entitled “The Run.” The two companies have come up with a collection of tees, a hoodie and kicks that will be featured both on the game and in these streets. The hi-top sneaker is sleek, boasting clean lines with black patent leather uppers, white soles, grey accents on the padded ankle, and on the Adidas stripes. The lace lock offers a clever nod to the game reading, ‘THE RUN’ and there is also a game logo on the heel of the shoe. The t-shirts and hoodie, in keeping with the simplicity of the sneaker, also wink at the collaborative effort with phrases like ‘Race For Your Life’ and graphics of a character on the run–the game logo is included on each item as well. The game drops on November 15th but you can cop the wardrobe at any Adidas Originals store now.–N. Graham

adidas is trying to get their Facebook likes up by releasing this D. Rose commercial teaser and asking fans to like their adidas Basketball page in order to unlock the full 60-second spot. The commercial looks like it could be hot–not so much for the FB campaign.
