Today Activision announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops will also be playable in stereoscopic 3D when the game is released on November 9th. The game is compatible with 3D-ready HDTVs and 3D PCs utilizing active shutter 3D glasses.

The 3D advancement was originally undertaken as a research and development project but as it developed the designers discovered that it was a perfect fit for CoD: Black Ops gameplay. “Aiming down the sights of your weapons, flying in helicopters, rappelling down mountains, and moving through highly detailed environments are just some of the awesome experiences you will have in 3D with Black Ops,” says Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch.

Black Ops was already the most anticipated game of the year, now they are just not playing fair. We can’t wait to chop down opponents in stereoscopic 3D.

CES2010---Image---Full-HD-3D-System

CES 2010 was all about 3D displays and the best showcase of the revamped technology requires Glasses, a 3D LED TV and a Blu-ray player playing a 3D Blu-Ray dic.

Panasonic’s Advanced Authoring Center now offers studios and filmmakers Blu-ray 3D image processing, interactive programming, as well as authoring and disc certification services, which are capable of making Blu-ray 3DTM Discs commercially available as early as Spring 2010.

We’re not sure if people will ever embrace wearing 3D glasses in their homes to watch television but Panasonic will be providing the technology for those that do.
