Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard is at it again. The jovial big man, known for being as silly off the court as he is dominant on it recently released a viral clip reviewing his new adiPower Howard 2 hoop shoe. Of course, he loves the shoe and he also throws in a few funny remarks here and there to keep it entertaining.

The shoe will be available February 9 at Foot Locker, shopadidas.com and Eastbay for $100.

On February 11th, Nike will debut their newest limited-edition collection celebrating Black History Month. The 2012 release pays homage to champions: the 1996 USA Basketball Women’s team, the 2008 Kenyan Long-Distance running team (both Olympic Gold winners), and the 2002 Brazil Men’s Soccer team (FIFA Cup winners).

The collection is built on black and grey tones throughout, the only differences being the vibrant graphics on the tongue, the lining, and the tips of the laces. Each item features either a nod to Kenyan beading, Brazilian Carnivale or African-American quiltmaking in the South.

More images and info There are a number of sneakers included this year. Going beyond the standard Air Force Ones or Air Maxes, Nike has also reworked the Zoom KD IV, Kobe VII System Supreme, the LEBRON 9s, Blazers and 2012 Huarache Frees.

If you’re into matchy-matchy outfits, Nike has a Destroyer jacket, T-shirt and snapback hat as a part of the collection also. The T-shirt reads “Uplift,” always a positive notion and the company hopes to do just that by donating a part of the proceeds to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America organization.

The Nike Black History Month Collection will be available at select retailers this month and at NikeStore.com.

Today adidas released images of the East and West uniforms of the 2012 NBA All-Star game. The uniforms are inspired by the Sunshine State and 20th anniversary of the 1992 game.

adidas is also dropping All-Star exclusive sneakers for Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard. The adiZero Rose 2.5 and adiPower Howard 2 All-Star versions will drop February 23 for $110 and $100 at Foot Locker, eastbay.com, shopadidas.com and NBA Jam Session in Orlando.

If adidas Originals are your thing, the three-stripe company will release the AR2.0 inspired by the adidas Forum Mid basketball shoe. It features clean vulcanized sole, patent leather strap, gold stars on the sockliner and navy/orange color way. The shoe is available now for $95 at Foot Locker.

Brandon Jennings Bloodline sneaker is one of the most slept on kicks of this hoops season. During the Under Armour Brandon Jennings Invitational in Milwaukee–which took place yesterday–teams/players were wearing a few SMU Bloodline silhouettes. Under Armour should definitely release some of the colorways that we’ve seen over the last few weeks in limited quantities.

Just Blaze has hooked up with Supra to release a special edition “Just Blaze Skytop II.” Only 413 individually numbered pairs will be sold. The shoe features an upper made entirely out of grey and purple reflective leather, a vulcanized sole pinstriped with purple accents and white foxing. The producer’s influence is also seen on the kicks via a custom hangtag, sock liner and Supra signature stash pocket inside the tongue.

For the last few years Christmas day had yielded sneakerheads player exclusive kicks to drool over and scour the net for. Under Armour has joined the fray with PE’s for four of their five hoop stars (the Clippers DeAndre Jordan recently signed with UA). Milwuakee Bucks PG Brandon Jennings has a special Rudolph themed Bloodline, Bobcats rookie Kemba Walker has the Juke in Red and Velocity (new take on traditional red and green), fellow Timberwolves rook Derrick Williams has a Supersonic in Silver, Green and Red, and the Memphis Grizzlies Greivis Vasquez has a Juke in traditional Christmas red and green.

Unfortunately none of the player’s teams are in action today and Scrooge Stern will probably not allow them to rock the kicks in later games so this may be the closest we get to seeing the shoes.
