Today 2K Games and Gearbox announced that Duke Nukem Forever will finally hit stores in 2011 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
For those who are too young to remember or just aren’t into gaming that heavy please believe this is a very big deal. The follow up to the original Duke Nukem game has had more false starts and delays than Detox and Chinese Democracy combined. Unlike Dre’s on again off again opus you can actually get your hands on Duke Nukem forever now. The game will be playable right now for all attendees 17 and older of this year’s Penny Arcade Expo at the 2K Booth (booth #3417).

This movie requires Flash Player 9
The makers of Power Gig: Rise of the SixString have brought 5o Cent level disrespect to the video game world with their latest viral video. These guys actually took a huge bundle of fake guitars (the kind we all use on Rock Band and Guitar Hero) and threw them out of plane into an active volcano. Absolutely insane.
As you might have expected, Power Gig uses a real six string guitar for gameplay. The name of the game is horrible but they’ve definitely got our attention.
Power Gig will arrive in stores this fall on Xbox 360 and PS3. Hit the jump for cover art.

l admit, I had middling expectations. I figured Def Jam Rapstar wouldn’t suck if only because that label has such a great legacy of artists but would they have the right songs and would they game capture the energy needed for a game like this? I wasn’t convinced but I was excited as the elevator door to the penthouse suite at NYC’s Cooper Square Hotel opened and I saw an amped crowd going word for word to “Scenario”.
