Last week Casio held an exclusive event in Los Angeles to launch the G-Shock X Mister Cartoon (DW6900MRC-8) Collaboration. The event was held at SA Studios in downtown LA. Kuhvet.com got a chance to speak with Cartoon about the design of the watch and the common threads that run through a lot of his designs. More pics and info Cartoon has loaned his artistic flair to products ranging from sneakers to cars and of course tattoos but designing a watch was different. “I was thinking more fashion and how can I appeal to a teen and a 40 y/o homeowner at the same time. With this, I had to keep it simple and clean,” says Mr. Cartoon.

When asked about the colorway theme that extends from the famed “Spidermanesque” Nike Air Force One sneaker to the G Shock Cartoon had this to say. “I try to change it up for different seasons but I’ve been wearing blue and gray since I was 12. Going from Dodger blue to navy. It’s just popular right now. It’s a grown man business with the design of the watch. I keep it O.G. It keeps with the same look and it’s still me. Bright colors, I leave for the kids.”
The Cartoon x G Shock watch is available now at select retailers and at gshock.com for $120.
